Issues while trying to edit a Webfronter page

We are currently having an issue with editing Webfronter pages.

Description: When users click on the Fronter logo ( >> ) on the bottom right hand corner of the Webfronter page they are either taken to the today page, or to a page that shows only "..." and will not load the edit page.

Workaround: At the moment the workaround is to edit the webfonter page from the actual Fronter room, on the back-end.
Login to Fronter, go into your Webfronter room, go to your resource folders on the left hand side, and edit, save and publish the pages there.
Click the Webfronter tool on the left hand side, tick the box next to your school webfronter site's name, and click publish.

We are already aware of this issue and looking into this to fix it.
Apologies for any inconveniences caused by this issue.

Further Y12 test tool authoring improvements

We are pleased to announce a further functionality release into the Y12 test tool, a matching question type.

"Matching" is now added as an option to the list of question types possible to add to the test in the left hand question menu. It can be added to the test in the same way as the other question types. You can add a maximum of 10 pairs in a matching question.

This new question type will be released on Friday, March 22nd.

New room added: Drugs Awareness Room

Room description:This resource is a drugs awareness classroom to address key stages 3&4 PSHE/Citizenship topics.

The rooms contains forums, tasks and quizzes as well as links to support websites.
Please be aware this room has some Youtube content.

Forthcoming navigation improvements

We are pleased to announce that on Friday, March 15th, 2013, there will be a few minor changes in Fronter Y12 navigation as preparation for a larger tab memory improvement to be released later this spring.

The visible changes that our Y12 customer will see on 15th of March are as follows:

  • Contact card in Fronter has changed name to My profile
  • Admin module and My Profile will now open in separate tabs
  • An indicator for page loading is added when opening a tab
  • You will see more consistent warnings when leaving a tab with unsaved changes

 

Y12 Improved multitasking

We are pleased to inform you of what we believe to be a major improvement in simplifying navigation and improving the workflow in Fronter. This change introduces what we refer to as "tab state" functionality: Fronter will now record your latest activity inside a tab when moving away from it.

This means that when you move back into this tab again, you will end up in the exact same place, doing the exact same operation that you where doing before you left. In other words, you are allowed to multitask inside Fronter.

These improvements will be released to all customers running Y12 on the Oslo hosting center during spring 2013, on date to be specified soon.
