We are pleased to announce two new additions to the external search repositories, available to you through the External Search tool from Monday 10th of May onwards.
Repository: Edurep - Educational Repositories (Dutch)
Description: Edurep allows to search for educational objects in a collection of Dutch repositories. Today Edurep is harvesting over 50
repositories and a selection of them can now be searched from within Fronter.
Repository: NDLA - Nasjonal Digital Læringsarena (Norwegian)
Description: NDLA is an initiative from the Norwegian Government to provide High schools with free digital teaching material. NDLA has produced new and comprehensive material covering digital and social media in different subject areas.
Q: How can I enable these new repositories?
A: Once they are released, you can enable these new content repositories in the Admin tool, on the Tools tab, and there in the Learning Resource Exchange sources. The external search itself is a room tool that can be added into any room.
Q: What is the External search tool?
A: Fronter's External search tool enables you to conduct searches in predefined content repositories outside of Fronter. Available repositories can be viewed in the Admin tool (see above), and some may require subscription from the content provider. Search results can be saved in Fronter resources as links, and subsequently used in learning and collaboration.
