Links to Elluminate sessions

The Blackboard Collaborate service (the web conferencing tool suite formerly known as Elluminate) was migrated to a new hosting facility in February 2012. At that time, all new Fronter generated links to this service were also migrated to point to the new facility. For a transition period, we established a redirection service for any links stored elsewhere, e.g. in e-mails. That is, upon following any such links you would see a page informing about the change, providing you with the new URL and asking to update any old links.

As of January 26th, this redirection service will end. This means that any old links pointing at the old service at fr-sas.elluminate.com will cease to work.

Should you still have any such links stored somewhere, you can simply change the domain "https://fr-sas.elluminate.com" with "https://eu1.bbcollab.com", leaving all parameters after this server address intact, and the link will work.

Elluminate Live 10! – Extended Maintenance Window

Blackboard Collaborate will be performing updates to their hosting infrastructure during an extended scheduled maintenance window during the following times:

  • Saturday, December 29th, 2012 from midnight CET until Sunday, December 30th, 2012 12:00 CET
  • Saturday, January 5th, 2012 from midnight CET until Sunday, January 6th, 2012 12:00 CET

Please expect that Elluminate Live! sessions and recordings services will be unavailable for periods of time during this extended maintenance window.

Monthly maintenance windows in 2013

As previously announced, in 2013 the planned monthly maintenance window will be the first Wednesday each month, instead of Thursdays as in 2012. As so far, however, we will not be using more than every third or fourth maintenance window. And as previously, each monthly maintenance to be performed will be separately announced prior to the maintenance taking place.

Please note however that there will be a brief additional planned maintenance on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 starting at 10:00 CET and estimated to be completed in two hours. This maintenance is not expected to cause downtime, but a few minutes of interruption may take place during the maintenance.

Content search maintenance Dec 18th

An emergency maintenance window on one of the content search servers is announced for Tuesday 18th December at the Oslo hosting site. The maintenance will start at 08:00 CET and is estimated to take half an hour. During this time, a number of Fronter installations will not be able to use the content search. Please note this does not impact all installations, nor is any other part of the Fronter platform affected. While this maintenance is necessary to ensure stable service, we apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.

Planned maintenance work on Thursday Dec 6th

The next scheduled regular maintenance for the Fronter Oslo hosting centre will take place in the evening of Dec 6th, the first Thursday in December. The maintenance window this time is from 18:00 CET until 7:00 CET the following morning. Please note that we do not expect significant service disturbance, or downtime, during this maintenance, but service degradation or intermittent interruptions may occur.

This maintenance will include capacity expansion and upgrades on document and database storage systems.

As an advance notification, please also note that during 2013 we will move the planned monthly maintenance window from Thursdays to the first Wednesday each month.
