We are pleased to announce a forthcoming minor change in archived rooms. This change will be released for Y11 on Thursday, May 24th.

Currently, when a room is archived, only users with contributions (content owners) are able to view their content. Users without content have no visibility of others content, even if they had this prior to archiving.

As of May 24th, when a room is archived, we preserve read-access that regular users had to resources. Both users with content (content owners) and users without content will be able to see content they could see prior to archiving.

In preparation for our Y12 release, the current tool for creating custom designs is gradually being phased out. As of Monday, May 21st, the existing custom designs will still be available for use, but will no longer be editable.

Then, during or after the summer, prior to upgrading your Fronter installation to Y12, we will be in touch with you to upgrade your current custom design, if you have one, to a brand new one in line with the Y12 experience.

In the development work for the Y12 release, WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines have played a central role. Accordingly, the custom design toolset will be entirely replaced with a new one that will better ensure compatibility with these guidelines also in custom designs.

While starting a Liveroom or Meeting session in Fronter, the launch page currently mentions a Blackboard Collaborate web conferencing update on March 31st.

Please note that this update does not apply to the Live! v10 suite currently integrated to Fronter.

As a part of an overall performance improvement effort and a bug fix, on Monday, March 26th a change regarding the setting "U21 School leader group" is introduced. This is a local setting related to the new School leader role that was recently introduced in the ILP tool.

This setting will now have to be set on the specific group containing the students to which the School leader should have access. Usually, this will be the "All students" group under 02 Policy Groups. That is, it will not be sufficient to enable the setting on the school node higher in the structure.

If you have started to use the new ILP functionality with school leader roles, please note that from Mon, March 26th onwards you may need to mend the setting as described above.
