Once again thanks go out to all of you who participated in this winter's support site survey! Please see below for a brief summary of some demographics, survey results, and forthcoming site improvements.

  • 71% of you visit the site daily or weekly
  • 65% of you have an administrator role in Fronter
  • 33% of you visit the site mainly for News and frontpage updates (largest single category)
  • 62% of you generally find what you are looking for on the site
  • 87% of you find the overall contents of the site fair or above

To further improve the usefulness of the information we provide you with, and to speed up retrieving what you are looking for, we are in the progress of significantly improving the content search engine used at the site. Please stay tuned for further updates! Also the look and feel of the site will be subject to some revision during this spring. Apart from that, naturally, we aim at keeping the site up-to-date with news, FAQ articles, updates on current issues and limitations, and also forthcoming changes.

‘Olympics’ Ready-to-go Room

Unfortunately – due to complicated copyright and trademark laws, our ‘Olympics’ Ready-to-go Room has been temporarily removed as some of the content could have been construed as an infringement. We are reworking the room to make sure it complies, and once it is completed it will once again be available for download. We apologise for this inconvenience and aim to have it updated as soon as possible.

Further improvements in the ILP tool

We are pleased to announce the release of major improvements into the Individual Learning Plan (ILP) tool. The improvements will be released on Friday, February 24th, on Fronter Y11.

The changes this time include both improvements to old functionality, as well as completely new features requested by the users. With these improvements, the ILP tool will fully replace the old ILP and Goal tools. These two old tools will be completely discontinued in Fronter  Y12.

Call for tips and tricks

We want to engage teachers, parents, learners, headteachers and anyone who shares our ambition to enable innovation in education.

You may be a head teacher who wants to share your experience of how you have used Fronter, a teacher with some useful tips and tricks or even a learner showing off your work.

We know educators and learners are busy people. To encourage you to take the time out of your schedule to share your experience with others, we will award an especially helpful entry each quarter.

Migration of the Elluminate service on February 16th

On Thursday, February 16th, the Blackboard Collaborate service (the web conferencing tool suite formerly known as Elluminate) is migrated to a new hosting facility.

The migration takes place on Thu, Feb 16th, starting from 2100 CET and is estimated to take up to three hours. During the migration, the Blackboard Collaborate service will be unavailable. Fronter itself is not affected. Please note this affects all hosting sites.
