THEMA: exporting a survey

exporting a survey 1 Jahr, 7 Monate her #725

Hi.

Maybe a slight strange question, but I was wondering if it is possible to export the exact questions and answers from a survey made in Fronter? Ofcourse i read the manual on surveys, but the result i get in Notepad after creating an export from Fronter, contains numbers only. No questions or answers like in the survey itself.

I attached 2 printscreens, one of the survey answers in Fronter, and one of the exported survey in Notepad. In both i marked the questions red and the answers green so you can see what i mean if you compare the printscreens

Thank you in advance.

Exporting a survey isn't an easy thing. It require preplanning and alot of manual work. I recommend that you read both the Survey manual and the Test manual regarding exports.

Short description on how to do it:

1. Make your questions

2. Make sure that each answear have there own unique point value

3. Write up the number in another document, for example 10=yes

4. After export you need to convert the numbers to text by using the replace function in excel (or whatever spreedsheet program you use)

5. Then you need to copy paste all questions

After this you can start working with the numbers

Also remember that exporting from large (Many questions) surveys isn't possible as the outdata gets corrupt. I wouldn't recommend more than 20 questions.

Thanks for your reaction Douglas. Hm, I read both the manuals (like I said in my original post) but I still can't get any further than exporting the survey to an Excel file. Then what? Maybe you could be so kind and explain a bit more about your short description because in the manuals i can't find anything about converting numbers to tekst. I do use Excel b.t.w.

Thanks you in advance!
